Following a surprise announcement last year, Nexon has begun moving closer to a release date for the sequel to Vindictus, Vindictus: Defying Fate. The official website launched earlier this year in April, with a slew of small updates from the team through May. On June 3rd, an announcement was made, along with a trailer, informing fans that an alpha test would begin on June 8th.
Vindictus has been an impressive title in the past with its deep roots in Irish mythology and appearance on the market as a ground-breaking hack-n’-slash MMORPG, giving Vindictus: Defying Fate an expansive foundation but also a lot to live up to if it wants to “wow” its players once again. So far the trailer has given us a glimpse of Colhen reimagined, and the four characters that will be available during the official alpha test: Lann, Fiona, Karok, and Delia. As expected, the graphics look stellar, and the character design is as generous and indulgent as ever.
Personally, I’m excited to see these developments, and I hope they don’t go too far with the fan-service as this publisher, and especially this title, has been known to do.
